Ten years ago some of us were opposed to the so-called "Patriot" Act as a violation of the very foundations that made this country free and the envy of every totalitarian state in existence. Today, many of those who supported the Patriot Act believing it would keep us "safe" are seeing the light; however, many people are just as blind, willingly or not, to the true aspects of the Patriot Act.

If we are to pretend we actually live in a democracy then we need to call our congressional representatives to task: force them to let the Patriot Act die and to return freedom and privacy to the American people.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank the ACLU for their constant efforts against the Patriot Act and its most heinous provisions.
