Little bit of "secret" American history.

Little bit of "secret" American history. Did you know, at the cusp of WWII, Jackie Conchran, a woman pilot of the time, was able to organize a women's flight group for the Army Air Corps? They didn't fly fighter missions but instead shuttled aircraft around, trained male pilots and pretty much did all the logistic work leaving male pilots free for war.

However, it was the male pilots who felt threatened and lobbied the Army to remove these women. Not only that, but they requested the women's role be classified essentially wiping them from the history books.

I have a friend who's mom was one of those pilots.

That's awesome, Keith Stansell!
Fascinating. I've never heard of her until now.

Oddly enough, I had heard of this! Didn't know that they stomped on them though. Stupid people. These skilled women went out of their way to go that extra mile for their country and they got a kick in the ass for their effort. Pretty disgusting.
