Two religious scholars write about cause and effect, plague and divine intent. They reason, and I agree, that relying on a one-stop "divine intent" argument for pitfalls in life are counter to a productive society.

"As the deadly Ebola virus continues to spread in Liberia, religious leaders there are claiming that "immoral acts" are responsible for the catastrophic outbreak.
