Verizon and at&t not liking the movement? Wall Streeters protecting their own from social tidal waves the like of what we saw during the Arab Spring? Or, more government interference with the fed ordering private companies not to allow communications a la the YouTube crackdown on protesting videos?

We Needed to walk Three Blocks away from the " Occupy Wall Street". All the AT&T and Verizon phones had there Internet cut off, then, about 15 minutes later the cell phones call ability. Still had 5 bars and Nothing would work. Everyone had the same problem.

We had to walk more than three blocks away to get a signal that worked.

Many Times the Police that were there all day have arrived. Police Cars and Officers are lining the side streets now. The crowd has grown to incredible proportions!

The Previous posting here on Google Plus was three times longer and it posted truncated and error filled.

It's so huge it's almost impossible to Grasp the size of the crowd! This are just a few pictures! I took several hundred.

I wondered the same thing, Don N. It made more sense to me that it was network overlead, but in a city the size of NYC I have to believe there's plenty of bandwidth on Wall Street.

Or, trading some disgruntled customers who are locked into contracts for a favor that could result in more government contracts later. In the end, we just won't know.

Really? My cellphone barely works in EWR Penn while I wait for the train to leave. It's not because the government is trying to shut down Penn Station, it's because there are about 5000 businessmen with smartphones in the same place at the same time all blackberrying.

Guess what protesters? It's the same thing. No one is trying to cut cell service for 2 blocks on government orders.

AT&T has had bandwidth issues in Manhattan for some time now, even on normal use days. When I've attended other large events, I've often had bandwidth issues.

I'm sure AT&T and Verizon would be less than thrilled if the Occupy Wall Street movement sees some success, but I doubt they feel threatened by the movement just yet.
