There are many reasons to leave a church.

There are many reasons to leave a church. One of them being you grew up and realized your religion was a child's fable. But this one struck me as hilarious:

5.  It’s OK to leave if heresy is being preached.

Today, people give the title of heretic to anyone with whom they disagree, theologically. There is room at the table for numerous disagreements. However, heresy undermines the essence of Jesus’ teachings. There are hundreds of issues in which Christians disagree and that’s OK. Not every disagreement is heresy. When the argument changes who Jesus is, move away and bow out – quickly.

Do modern Christians even understand the teaching so Jesus to begin with? Especially those watching Fox News?

Don't need reasons, just times. Soon, often and always.

1) when the church leaders are hypocritical money-grubbing backstabbers who are running a cult of personality
2) when the congregation is mostly composed of hypocritical suck-ups to aforesaid leaders who go around spying on and gossiping about their neighbors.

I think it is safe to say that the teachings of Jesus, in plain text and without theological amendments, would be considered heresy by most of Christendom today, if they did not know who said it.
