Unlike many other software companies Google likes to play. They like to lock some developers away, give them a task and set them free.

Okay, sure, it doesn't quite happen like that, but Google does like to take what they've learned over the course of working on various projects and re-imagine them from the ground-floor up. Not many companies do this. Microsoft has said they will, but then scrapped that project. Oracle, Apple and others have promised to do so then fallen short. But, for all it's problems, Google does. And Fuchsia is their latest attempt to take what they knew and apply it from scratch.
