Let's set aside the fact that their very presence will escalate tension in the area, but if a bunch of white guys are allowed to openly carry assault rifles in a predominately black area already under considerable racial tension and the police allow them to do so, then the police and local district attorney's are complicit in any actions that occur as a result.

Oath Keepers are retired military and Police personnel who are disgusted at the way things are mutating into, and will go up against the military or the Police if they see something wrong.
Perhaps @FreakOutNation should do some fact checking before they start blathering on. That is, engage brain, before placing mouth in gear.

'The official Police forces' are the ones that have been doing all the citizen killings, in case it's slipped your notice. That's actually what the situation in that town's all about. It's been in the news for ages, or haven't you heard?

On top of that, they are not going there to keep the police in check (and according to their website that is what they claim to do) but to help the police protect the businesses. Which does have me suspect their motives, especially as they claim their main goal is usually keeping government in check. All the sudden they aren't skeptical of government...
Whether they truly have good intentions or not, it really isn't going to help to add a vigilante group with guns to an already tense situation.
