Fixed the SV today.

Fixed the SV today. Had to splice some wires, assemble some connectors, etc. Not entire sure if it won't look like this in a week, but we'll see.

I meant to take before, during and after shots, but I kind of got caught up in what I was doing and forgot to.

Had the guy at the motorcycle store tell me this might have happened because of a faulty regulator/rectifier. I hope not. The one in the bike isn't even two years old yet.

Glad it's up & running. I made an appointment for my V Star for the end of next week for her yearly overhaul. I'm not waiting until I have an issue. I'm probably begging for trouble though.

Maybe next late winter spring I can get it to a real mechanic who will fix all my problems. :)
Good luck...being a faulty rectifier...just might be the meaning of "over powered" rectifier since you did the upgrade.  That will give the same result as a faulty one.  When you dont upgrade all...it gives a problem... Cant remember if you upgrade your rectifier or your stator, but same thing, you upgrade stator, you need to upgrade rectifier.  Keeping it all the same...to pull the same output...or this happens...

I replaced the rectifier then replaced the stator. Multimeter readings are reading perfect.
Awesome! I'm very happy for yeah, not a fun problem... Here's to another day of riding!
