To me it looks like a Can-Am Spyder with a cockpit.

There are plenty of sub-$7K cars out there. You normally call them "used."

I'd be somewhat worried about side impacts in that. Or it blowing away in the wind. Or being stolen by kids.

There's going to be a bunch of "front-back" 2 seaters coming out soon. Very cool for urban commuting.

I am really interested in the leaning electric ones. They feel like enclosed motorcycles instead of a small car.

Logan Cate, according to their website, they meet or exceed all safety standards. But then again, people say the same thing about MiniCoopers, Smart Cars, Prius' and a whole host of other smaller automobiles.

Jason ON I saw that, but it still seems strange. There cannot be much space between the outer skin and where you sit.

I'd love to see the tests for it though, because more cool cars are better. However, the other issue I see is that people don't like being front to back. It makes it rather awkward for talking. Would you use a headset like they do in fighter jets?

And Smart Cars are actually VERY safe. Their crash tests will SHOCK you. Check 'em out on YouTube:

I don't think this vehicle is designed for family outings, Logan Cate. More of a commuter. But, motorcyclists use helmet radios to stay in touch, so why not these guys?
I like it, I really do. I would buy one. But I wonder how comfortable I would be in it. The sides are pretty close and claustrophobic.
