Is it that big of a deal?

Is it that big of a deal? Don't get me wrong, I'm usually a stickler for the proper word in the proper place, but "blog" and "blogging" are still relatively new to the English lexicon -- is it fair to admit the terms might be fluid and interchanheable?

Granted, I don't know many people who say I wrote a blog so much as they say I write a blog so I'm not sure where this blog post is coming from.
