Did you guys see this? I demo-dayed an RC8 once. I'm not going to lie, that's a bad ass piece of machinery. It handled extremely well and made my SV feel like I was riding a tank afterwards.
It's definitely a track bike, though. I wouldn't want to tour or sit in traffic on one.

If you recall, the guys did end up breaking the rear subframe on 2 of the bikes (due to exceeding the gross weight limit) and the camera man fucked up his bike somehow.
Not sure if the KTMs would have fared any worse or better.
I rode a friend's Aprilia RSV 1000 R and found it to be underpowered and to have uncomfortable ergonomics. However, the Aprilia RSV4 looks incredible and I'd have to give it a try before judging.
The following time indexes on episode 2 clearly indicate that they were getting the bikes free:
2m24s While discussing KTM's phone call after the visit from KTM's consultant, Charlie saying "They don't want to give any of the bikes!"
4m16s Ewan saying "My first reaction was that we blew it. That we're just like a bunch of spoiled greedy people. And I thought about all the things we expect. They were offering to give us free motorbikes. Who else gets free motorbikes? You can't just walk into a shop and demand a free motorbike and yet we were."
And finally, Ewan is fucking loaded and owns a garage just for his bikes. He could have easily purchased 3 KTM Adventure bikes if that's what it came down to.
