I think this is the very definition if taking things a little too far. The name of the place is Illegal Pete's not Illegal Pedro's. Is illegal operation of a motor vehicle a racial slur, too?

Oh, and let's not forget, "Mexican" isn't a race, it's a nationality.

If he'd called his place "Wetback Pete's" that might be different. But this idea that the word must only apply to illegal aliens is just stupid.
Glad the owner is keeping the name. When i visit Colorado i will definitely have to check it out.

Jason ON Well, "Pedro" is a proper name: one might take it either way. "Wetback", on the other hand, is a deliberate pejorative.

In any event, it's much ado about nothing.
