Look to your Tea party future, people.

Look to your Tea party future, people. Wal-Mart is a prime example of unrestrained capitalism allowed to freely "work itself out."

They destroy small town America and then leech off the federal coffers as an excuse not to pay a livable wage to their employees.

If Walmart doesn't stop leeching off of everyone with their poverty wages, they should just leave America all together.

Alice Cabrera Yea, when I worked for Sam's Club; they were all about the employee, & they handed out raises regularly, the MMS's were also kind heart'd & gave those who had financial problems extra hours. So they tried. I'm also speaking of a time that's over 10 years ago...

You do understand that no one is "Forcing" anyone to work for Walmart...

Also a living Wage depends on the cost of living. I don't see why this would be an issue in DC. However in NY, people are str8 up Slaves to corporations. I mean McDonald's is the No.1 Dictator on the Chart. I will never support McDonalds.

Paul Dilley That is true, but man it's tough out there. I used to work for Sam's Club (Walmart) when I lived in PA. On normal hours I was able to pay my rent, cable, cell phones, car insurance, etc. The Cost of living in PA was the helpful factor.
In some states people don't get that break. I have been on both sides of the fence & some companies aren't even worth working for. Even though you're not being forced to sometimes it's something you have to do, due to the dynamics of life itself.
So it's harder to put yourself in the Victims shoes & feel for them VS just saying that no one is forcing them to work.
Well you're a white man, possibly in a nice income tax bracket so those who make less than you probably don't mean anything to you.
Well sorry we're not as successful as you.

Jay Martich ... I totally get it...  they pay minimum  wage and it's really difficult to live on that... but they are not breaking any laws... and it's not forced labor...

Bottom line, get a better job... one that pays you what your skill set is worth..

Don't have the skills, go back to school there are all kinds of assistance for school.

6 years ago, my industry disappeared and there were no "jobs" in my area for my skill set... so... I learned how to build websites do internet marketing then started my own company... I'm not rich, but I make a decent living

Paul Dilley Wow, LOL. That's ironic, I did something similar to you. Corporations just don't pay enough for my skill set. So I too started my own company & added a few more tricks to my belt of knowledge.

I just feel for them because I have been there done that. However some of these minimum wage jobs really have to look at what they're doing to people. They want their time & energy, so flipping pay them so they have food, gas, & other resources that helps them live.

I mean at the rate the Country is moving, I'm about to just go down south, live at a plantation, let my employer (Master) whoop the living crap outta me for getting outta line etc. I'll tell you what the upside to that is, I'll have a roof over my head, a shitty one but its free. I'll also have food in my belly, plenty of energy to work on the plantation the next day. (Might be scraps, but they're free)

Yea, that's right people are starving out there. Look at these gas prices, cost of living, cost of food (wait what happened to the pay increase). Uhhh are we trying to kill ourselves. Man Humans are effin self centered, selfish, & stupid.

I'm glad I'm a Grey, I fell from the moon in the early 80's.
