Rape is a long standing Christian tradition. There wasn't a lot of marriage, historically. There was PLENTY of 'taking a wife'. After the 'taking' came the rape and beatings. All the recent talk of the Christian definition of marriage was laughable considering the Christian history of kidnapping women and raping them into the family.....READ your Bible...

But isn't rape just a way of asking for a young lady's hand in marriage? God is all about marriage between a man and a woman, so, yeah, rape and the aftermath are gifts from God.  Simple, right?

from the first link: (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)   If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father.  Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
