Another step in the escalation chain?
Another step in the escalation chain?
For more than a decade libertarians have been telling themselves, and anyone who will listen, that the government is corrupt, that anything having to do with government is inherently evil. The GOP jumped on that bandwagon in the early 00s and now they have to deal with an in-house insurrection between Tea Party Republicans and more moderate mainstream Republicans. Then the Libertarians took to the borders in their so-called Minute Men mission to guard American from starving exhausted Mexicans.
Now they're taking to the streets to confront lawlessness from the police.
I believe, I truly do, that most police are good people. However, those good people are held back from any true reform of policing agencies by the Blue Line allowing bad behavior to rum amok.
But this sort of behavior cannot end well. Some cops are already claiming cell phones and beverages are weapons and they have to defend themselves with deadly force (under the same misguided mantra of 'preemptive strikes'). Knowing that people are actively carrying weapons and trying to provoke isn't going to de-escalate the situation at all.
Of course, neither is the SCotUS rolling back Constitutional protections for the people by allowing the police to lie or, their most recent decision, to make up laws on their own.

Let the real Black Panthers show up and the police will shot them down in a second.
