In short: #DonaldTrump is as dumb as we all thought he was and when we all told our #TrumpNation friends that his habit of bankrupting businesses would destroy our country, we weren't kidding.

_The Trump administration, which had not anticipated a long-term shutdown, recognized only this week the breadth of the potential impact, several senior administration officials said.

The officials said they were focused now on understanding the scope of the consequences and determining whether there is anything they can do to intervene._

Donald Trump's business philosophy is simple: let's just not pay our bills.

But you can't do that when it's a nation.

Nobody saw it coming?

Bullfuckingshit. Everyone who didn't have their heads shoved up Rupert Murdoch's ass saw it coming.

as a reminder, 'jobs numbers' are not actual jobs but instead are reported income.

Where as killary would have started at least one more war by now if not two. In doing so the rest of the world would be getting a real hate on for america and its bully boy ways.

Its time america owned its shit and realized how far in the hole it was before trump got anywhere near the place.. Stop wasting trillions on war and bring those soldiers home.

Can't help but see that this move is just another step in the GOP's effort to force the US government into enough dysfunction, that it is incapable of resisting the long-game, power grab being exacted by corporate (Oligarchical) interests.

When reading "just 12 percent of IRS employees are working" I found myself thinking: "During the shutdown, or normally?"

Freeze all Trump's assets for the duration of the shutdown. That will bring him to the table double-time.

Rich LaDuca how is that different to what's been happening for years?

And really...
This anarchist rhetoric is being driven by corporate greed.
Their bottom line is effected by how much they pay in taxes.
Demonizing the tax collector, and forcing what those tax dollars pay for, to become dysfunctional...
This works to benefit corporations bottom lines.
They point at what they have ruined, blame it on government, and demand that they should not be expected to pay into it...
They sway, an otherwise ignorant, and naive public by romanticizing 'anarchy', as a means to their end.
Unmitigated greed.

If one is actually familiar with the ideology, we refer to as 'Socilaism' (which is the actual reason people study the concept, when studying 'Political Science')...
Two things becomes clear..
1) That sharing the load, helps everyone.
2) That allowing any social subset, to accumulate vast amounts of wealth, creates an economic, and social imbalance.

And we all, already know this to be true..
The US has had socialized elements in place, for about a century now.
And it really does work.
It has to be funded on a directly proportional basis, or it falls apart...
And we are seeing this happen now.
The reason it (socialized infrastructure) is being demonized now, is because corporations don't want to have to contribute to those aspects (and because they empower organized labor, but I digress).
Corporate interests would rather, those aspects be privatized, so that corporate interests can profit from these aspects directly.

They have schemed Congress, to under-fund these aspects, in order to make them dysfunctional, and look like ripe candidates for privatization.

It also further embeds corporate interests into the running of this country, taking even greater amounts of control away from the public, further disassembling the main goal of the Constitution...

To prevent an Oligarchy.
Or, as we are seeing - A Corporocratic Oligarchy.
