Mitch Mcconnell is a Snake

[There really does need to be a Blogger widget so posting isn't so cumbersome]

Mitch McConnell is either trying to save face or save his ass. Rumor-mill had it that McConnell secretly despised Donald Trump and what Trump did to the Republican Party, but Mitch also recognized a useful tool. He bid his time, acquiesced to Trump's popularity among Republicans and now - when it's nearly over - he steps into the light and speaks truth to Trump and his hoard of supporters.

     "They were fed lies."

But this isn't just McConnell trying to save face, it's him trying to reign in the rest of the GOP that supported Donald Trump's insanity. It's him trying to recover what remains of the Right and save the Senate and House seats he can.

Mitch McConnell spent the past four years pandering to Donald Trump's inane inadequacies. He covered nfoe the President (less than 24 hours left until he's an ex-president) and shielded Trump from removal from office. He aided and abetted Trump's takeover of the GOP and the alt-Right terrorists that unltimately stormed the capital with the intent to overturn the Constitutional process of our Republic. McConnell was silent as Trump whipped his cult into a frenzy and sent them against another branch of government.

That's right, this wasn't just about Trump's refusal to concede or his ego, it was about putting one branch of government, the Executive, against another, the Legislative. It was about disrupting our democracy and installing an autocratic ruler.

It was sedition. It was insurrection. It was a failure.

And yet McConnell was silent.

The former Senate leader deserves no praise or solace. His greed and party-over-country agenda he enabled since the Obama administration shouldn't be forgotten or excused. McConnell is an opportunist with no moral or ethical code. He is an example of the worst of us and is the poster child for why the Right believes all politicians are dishonest and corrupt.

McConnell needs to go quietly into the night and be forgotten.
