I'm still not sold on this #Venom movie. I mean, how can you have the symbiote without #Spider-Man first? The Venom-symbiote goes through so many changes because of it's time with Peter Parker that makes it what it is before it finds its way to Eddie Brock via their shared hatred of Spider-Man. I fear this is just another failure by Sony Pictures Entertainment . They should have gone with #SinisterSix film as the villains don't need Spider-Man first. Sony Sony is trying real hard to create a #Spider-Man universe . They have a Venom solo movie coming out even though the symbiote hasn't been I trounced yet; a Miles Morales (animated) film coming out this winter and strapped plans for the Sinister Six to appear on film. Now, they're looking to other #SpiderMan characters. What do you think about Mysterio being the (main) villain in the #Spider-Man Homecoming sequel? Personally, I was hoping to see a Hobgoblin or a deadlier, more sinister, Green Goblin. I can only assume the producers want to keep running through Spidey's rogue gallery as opposed to rebooting characters we've already seen but we need to see a real threat to Spider-Man and, let's face it, Norman Osborn/GG fills that role. While the article refers to the "Harry Potter" formula, Marvel Cinematic Universe (the #MCU) really is forcing Peter Parker into more of, what I call, a "Peter Pan Syndrome". They're trying to keep him artificially young when #Spider-Man has gone on to great things post high school. Looks like we did get the #Spider-Man to trailer today. Woot! I'm just not a fan of the whole "Tony Stark takes Peter under his wing" thing. Spider-Man started out a loner. Had the movies not kept rebooting the character, yes, he could have grown into meeting the Avengers or whatnot, but Spider-Man was never mentored by anyone but trial and error. Here they're taking away his self-esteem I nation and turning him into the sidekick who goes rogue, rather than the hero. Maybe the trailer didn't accurately reflect the movie, though. Maybe it's all marketing because the Avengers are hot right now and Marvel/Disney are trying to capitalize on Robert Downy Jr's Iron Man popularity.
