In 2016, the cost per M110A1 was quoted as approximately $12,000 each, with the price tag of the Schmidt and Bender scope easily a third of that. $12k each? Really? Plus the scope? H&K make a good gun, but damn! #Army https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/weapons/a19183026/us-army-squads-new-marksman-rifles/

Someone is nicer to TSA agents than I am. Read what Lucius Nite says about TSA and Constitutionally guaranteed right to move about freely. Originally shared by **** It's pretty unbelievable how we have people in the military, that also work for the TSA, who have sworn an oath to protect the Constitution, and then they violate our Constitutional rights by searching every single person that goes through airport security. Every single time I go through security I opt out of the scanning. Each time I opt out I'm required to receive the full pat down. Of course, their default answer is that it's necessary in order to protect us. I then ask why the elderly (over 75) and the children (under 12) are allowed to go through security without removing their shoes or jackets. Apparently you're only a terrorist in between those a...

Celebrity Encounters

Jason Salas made a post on Google+ about celebrity encounters. His post reminded me of this experience when I was 19ish, maybe 20. My dad was president of the Chamber of Commerce back home when they helped volunteer at a celebrity golf tournament. I was conscripted to volunteer as well while I was on leave from the Army. Two things happened: 1 - I hit on a really hot girl only to have her friend snub her nose at me. I later learned she (the one I hit on) was the girlfriend of one of the celebs, Bret Michaels. 2 - A guy came over and asked if I wanted to carry his golf bag. I said something smartassed to him about him looking fit enough to carry his own and since I was on leave from the military I wasn't there to sweat. My brother, in disbelief, told that was the center-fielder for the Pirates (at the time). I can't recall his name.
