Every single time I go through security I opt out of the scanning. Each time I opt out I'm required to receive the full pat down. Every time they start putting their hands down my pants I ask them questions about how they personally feel about all of this "required" screening. Of course, their default answer is that it's necessary in order to protect us. Jason Salas made a post on Google+ about celebrity encounters. His post reminded me of this experience when I was 19ish, maybe 20. My dad was president of the Chamber of Commerce back home when they helped volunteer at a celebrity golf tournament. I was conscripted to volunteer as well while I was on leave from the Army. Two things happened: 1 - I hit on a really hot girl only to have her friend snub her nose at me. I later learned she (the one I hit on) was the girlfriend of one of the celebs, Bret Michaels. 2 - A guy came over and asked if I wanted to carry his golf bag. I said something smartassed to him about him looking fit enough to carry his own and since I was on leave from the military I wasn't there to sweat. My brother, in disbelief, told that was the center-fielder for the Pirates (at the time). I can't recall his name.
