When is a lie not a lie? When you want to believe it:

When is a lie not a lie? When you want to believe it: This is what Hahl et al. call “the authentic appeal of the lying demagogue”: the idea that lying is not only acceptable but seen as a sign of a certain kind of honesty, if done in service of a traditional group under threat from an upstart social movement. In #TrumpNation #fakenews is when you disagree with the facts, lies are acceptable and only Democrats and liberals are being held to any kind of standard. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/10/2/17923574/brett-kavanaugh-ford-hearing-lies-republicans

The photographer who documented #DonaldTrump's abysmal crowd size admits to adjusting the image to make the crowd look larger at the request of the Trump administration. In #TrumpNation the only #fakenews is the news from the White House. https://www.thedailybeast.com/government-photographer-edited-inauguration-pics-to-make-crowd-look-bigger-documents

Some days you just have to wonder how deep the abyss is in #TrumpNation.

Some days you just have to wonder how deep the abyss is in #TrumpNation. It seems child molester look alike, and senior White House advisor, Jared Kushner, ordered new stories removed from a media outlet he owned (owns?) that were critical of his buddies, thus perpetuating his father-in-law's claims of #fakenews. Kushner requested the removal of a 2010 story about a settlement between then-New York attorney general Andrew Cuomo and real estate firm Vantage Properties regarding allegations that the company had illegally forced tenants out of their apartments to raise rents. Kushner also ordered another 2010 article deleted about Vantage’s top executive Neil Rubler. That story’s URLsuggests that Rubler had appeared on some sort of "10 worst landlords" list. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/stevenperlberg/jared-kushner-new-york-observer

What does "freedom of the press" mean to you?

What does "freedom of the press" mean to you? Does it mean that #DonaldTrump should be allowed to create a database of reporter's names so they can be monitored to ensure they're not reporting anything too critical of #TrumpNation? Does it mean, as long as they're not applying direct force, or direct threats, then the government can intimidate reporters and outlets as they wish? Remember, #DonaldTrump has been hammering on about the WashingtonPost because he doesn't like their coverage of him, so what happens when reporters are being denied travel visas, passports or having their IP address blocked because Trump decides they're #fakenews? https://www.forbes.com/sites/michellefabio/2018/04/06/department-of-homeland-security-compiling-database-of-journalists-and-media-influencers/#6ed043666121

As it turns out, #DonaldTrump was right all along, there is #fakenews out there.

As it turns out, #DonaldTrump was right all along, there is #fakenews out there. Unfortunately, he was wrong about the source of the false reporting. Sure, there has always been inaccurate reporting, especially after disasters, where reporters and editors scramble to get a story out, but those are few and far in between. Or, at least they have been. Now we have coordinated attacks to mislead the media for the sole purpose of misleading the media. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/16/florida-shooting-white-nationalists-415672

In #TrumpNation you don't have to know anything, just scream once in a while about #fakenews or Hillary Clinton to keep the fans in a fervor. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/07/25/trump-erroneously-says-lebanon-is-on-the-front-lines-fighting-hezbollah-a-partner-in-the-lebanese-government/

In #TrumpNation it's not #fakenews if the president saw it on TV, repeated it and was then found out to be wrong.

In #TrumpNation it's not #fakenews if the president saw it on TV, repeated it and was then found out to be wrong. Seriously though, #DonaldTrump seems to have s flirtation with not knowing anything factual. Remember the scores of Muslims celebration 9/11? Or the popular vote scandal? How about the most electoral votes since Reagan? Or the Iranian airplane full of cash? http://www.cbsnews.com/news/fact-check-donald-trump-see-money-pouring-off-a-plane-in-iran/ Originally shared by Coyoty Wright http://mashable.com/2017/02/19/donald-trump-sweden-incident/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link#tXmplkKxAEqw
