Macron says Europe needs to protect itself from Russian invasion.

Macron says Europe needs to protect itself from Russian invasion. #DonaldTrump (for some reason) took that to mean Macron wants Europe to arm itself in defense against the USA.

Read that again: Donald Trump is either equating or confusing the USA and Russia.

In #TrumpNation the president doesn't know the difference between Russia and the United States of America.

Trump's Tuesday morning tweet was his second over the past five days that accused Macron of suggesting European nations need more robust militaries to protect themselves from the U.S., a mischaracterization of what the French president actually said. Macron, in an interview with Europe 1, suggested that Europe needs to better position itself militarily against an increasingly aggressive Russia.

Totally off topic. But damn! Some aid near by is getting BAKED!
I'm sure there is a more reasonable explanation for the smoke. But I like my theory. 😁

Jason ON tell that to Aussie.
It seems like Macron was the one being somewhat confusing here “We should protect ourselves when it comes to China, Russia and even the United States.”, though that was referring to nuclear treaties and cyberattacks, not the European army. So confusion over which defense Macron was talking about, rather than between US and Russia.
