I can understand Facebook's reasoning here. Not sure how ethical it is to forcibly stop their app from working, especially if it was only for Android users.

Not buying it. They're just trying to cover for the fact they can't make a good app.

Before reading the article, I thought I knew which crappy lack of functionality they were taking about (phantom notifications, lack of in - app messaging, a curating algorithm which shows me stuff I can't actually interact with, or the strange design split between the iOS and Android apps), but it's something I've never actually encountered.
