Whoa! MTV is making a Shannara TV show.

On an interesting note: I read The Elfstones book before I read Sword of Shannara, so this may make sense to me.

You didn't know? I've been excited to see how this comes along. I've read almost all of the Shannara series. I haven't read the latest ones.

I stopped reading them around The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara. All the stories were the same, just different characters.It got sort of boring.

Brooks combined his other series with Shannara after the Jerle Shannara series. It helped bring it to a modern era.

Wishsong wounded my interest and Scions finished it off. I couldn't even finish the latter. I loved Sword and Elfstones however. I will have to see how this series works.

They certainly tried hard to make Amberle Elessedil (Poppy Drayton) look a lot like Nina Dobrev. Not that it'd take all that much effort.
