As a British citizen who lived in England for 50 years, he should have known that such behavior was against the law and quite objectional. Did he really think claiming racism was a valid defense?

Side Question: If a racist is one who is prejudiced against someone because of race, what would the word be for the religious equivalent? Religist? I'm sure there is a word but I'm drawing a blank on it.
