She was hit by a truck and was layed out in bed for a year, had to re-learn how to walk and ended up with severe neural damage and hypersensitivity in her eyes and ears, so she had to learn a softer music than the rock she used to like. She learned to play guitar and sing while in the hospital. And the hypersensitivity in her eyes is why she wears sunglasses almost all the time.
