It's always possible that something like that could have a positive effect on the immune system. For example, people have been successfully using hookworms to treat auto-immune diseases like MS, and it's believed that Helicobacter pylori has a protective effect against autoimmune disease as well. The theory is that we evolved for hundreds of millions of years with parasites, and in the absence of them the immune system goes haywire. But on the other hand it could be a crock. Also, ew!
