On the evening of this picture that was indeed the color of the sky thanks to some overcast and the lights of Denver bouncing back down and the color of the tree was reflecting a blue light. It was actually really surreal in person.

The brownish/red backdrop behind the white trees certainly gives the viewer a solid idea of what you mean by being surreal in person.
