While driving earlier I passed a man who was in the middle Lane of traffic (of three lanes) trying to change his tire. I had to find a point to do a U-turn and pulled up behind him so he wasn't hit by a car not paying attention. Then we changed his tire.

About twenty minutes after I arrived a "Community Service" officer came up and added his car and lights to the warning for other drivers. A few minutes after that, a local cop added his.

We got the tired changed and Dave "Dude" thanked me for stopping. He was worried some distracted driver would ram into him while he was working on his truck. I told him that was my concern, too.

Overhere you're required by law to have a traffic triangle in your car at all times (in case of such circumstances, to warn oncoming traffic). I guess that's not the case overthere?
Oh.. good guy Jason... :)

Risk the damage to your rim and tire and get into a breakdown lane at least. He would have been ticketed for obstructing traffic in NY.

I also wondered why he didn't move over but he said he didn't want to damage the rim. I once drove a quarter mile on a rim just to get out of traffic.

And, I used to carry orange cones in my truck for such occasions, but I can't remember where they went so it's just Big Red Truck and flashers.
