We have this all the time with work emails. Someone picks the wrong distribution list and it goes company wide, and the response emails are just as bad.

Oh yeah. When this happens and numerous people click "reply all" it can take out an entire mail server and force the IT department to work a lot of overtime.

Email is so ubiquitous yet so few know how to use it. The issue started with the sender not using bcc to email a large list of people and is compounded by several recipients not knowing when to use reply vs reply all

Also, in Gmail, if you reply asking to be unsub'd then you can no longer mute. Best option instead is to just mute and ignore, not reply to anyone.
