I think I saw it on my main Google account a couple weeks ago. I turned it off because I like being able to go to Inbox or Gmail on the same account to accomplish different things. I usually use Gmail from home and Inbox while I'm at work because it's less distracting.

I hope not. I gave inbox a serious try on both mobile and desktop. I'm not a fan.

Inbox is optional. I've been using it a while and it's fine. I still have the option to use gmail but usually don't. Same email address, just different organization.

I use both depending... Some features aren't in one that are in the other which is odd to me. The unsubscribe option isn't available in both.

I like inbox but when I need to search for something more advanced like chat logs I go back to Gmail.

Oh and why aren't there a way to search chats from within hangouts?
