I can't understand why people insist that the iPhone keyboard is so superior when its autocorrect is so legendarily terrible.

The iPhone autocorrect isn't really terrible right out of the box, bad, but not terrible. It gets there fast though.
All those corrections to dirty words?
It learns those from it's own user.
