I've always wondered how Groundhog Day made sense for Rita. One minute she thinks Phil is a hero and a few hours later she falls in love with him? I'm not saying a woman's mind can't be changed, but it usually takes more than a few hours - most of which they spend apart.

Bad enough for poor Andie, it's worse than that...go watch some movies from the 40s & 50s. Guy acts like a jerk all thru the movie, guy & gal fight constantly, but somehow at the end they get together. Or 60s -- weird schlubby guy declares love for some beautiful gal and chases after her for most of the movie, and for some reason she's ok with that and they get together at the end. It's a trope -- guy gets the gal at the end, no matter what has gone before.
