So you agree with Joe Wilcox​? Are Chrome OS and Chromebooks doomed? About the only part of this piece I did agree with was the assertion that Google for Education by way of Chromebooks was designed to get children firmly seated in the Google ecosphere. Which is also what Android is doing, or has done, for millions of people.

Apple quite intentionally worked at getting their brand solidly established with high schools in the 1980's through hardware donations. It's a fantastic idea.

I used a Chromebook forever and when I broke the keyboard I thought if replace it with one of the new Acer win10 web books or whatever they are calling them. It's been a few months now and I want my Chromebook back. I hope they are here to stay. They're so fast and convenient. I'm getting another. Price point wise Apple isn't even up for consideration.
