Indonesia is burning so much that they're releasing unprecedented amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere right now and destroying the habitats of thousands of species that have nowhere else to go.
The other thing is, this is what the GOP wants for the USA. With no regulation the market will 'adjust' to take care of environmental concerns. As we can see, that's not what happens in real life, only in the fantasies of those who proselytize free-market governments. If one of these Tea Party wackados gains the White House (oh, the horror!) we'll all be wearing face masks to breathe because the bottom line will be more important than life existing.
