Has Christianity done more for science than atheism?

Has Christianity done more for science than atheism? Perhaps, but only because the years of enlightenment were filled with people who claimed christianity as their religion upon fear of retribution from the local lord or church.

Christianity didn't do anything for science. Christians did. Atheists have done plenty for the advancement of science in the modern era and Christians haven't as much. But seriously Christianity hasn't done anything for science

What a load of bullshit.

Religious scientists have made discoveries in spite of their faith, not because of it.

Sure, many Christians are, or were scientists. But they still suspend that analytical part of their minds when it comes to their belief in a two thousand year old zombie Jew who healed lepers and fed five thousand.

Good to know that Francis Collins (who helped discover the human genome) and Astronomer Jennifer Wiseman, chief of the ExoPlanets and Stellar Astrophysics Laboratory in the Astrophysics Science Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, managed to do something useful. LOL!

Frank King Francis Collins was formerly an atheist btw. But that's not really important. What is important to me though is that he does believe in evolution and he rejects creationism/intelligent design. Like I said before, christian scientists are so different from your average christian. Christian scientists (real scientists, not scientist wannabes like Kent Hovind) don't take the bible literally. If only all christians could be like that, I'd already have far less issues with them.
