This is terrible and had this happened in an Islamic country all the right wingers would be holding it up as an exampke that their culture is barabric.
This should make national news, not just the local news.

Not sure what's the "true story" here... but I really feel strongly that police and those in protective services should have the book thrown at them when they abuse their authority and positions, especially in light of such abuse which amount to Human Rights violations.
While I can understand the need of the officers to ensure that their own safety isn't too compromised in the discharge of duty, WTF does action like this serve other than to humiliate and dehumanise the person, who in this case, was the victim in the incident which led to the initial police call.
I'm sorry America, but this is just another example of how f-ed up things are over there TBH.
