Interesting idea but it makes me wonder about those stores that kick people out for taking pictures of products or using their phones to price-check. Yes, it happens.

If they have a QR code on their display, it's fair game. Especially if it has a 'for more information' blurb on it.

A friend and I nearly got kicked out of a store once because he took a picture of an item to go home and do further research. An associate saw him and scolded us both fairly good and said if we were caught photographing in the store again we would be kicked out. Since this was a membership store (ala Sams and Costco) neither of us were sure what the actual rules were.
