They probably just asked some of them: hey, you're coming on the show anyway, will you film this small skit for us to use?

Or, an agreement with their studio contracts: hey, if you do this, you won't have to do that as required by contract.

And some could be money. Who know? Well, someone knows, but they're not talking to me.

You're probably right. I would like to think that pretty much anyone is willing to laugh about their careers though.

And I think some of them just have a good sense of humor: Matt Damon, George Clloney, Sam Jackson. Others probably not so much and then at least one of them got to shoot a bedroom scene with Kate Beckinsale and that alone would have sold me. :D
