At the Ranchland Republican Women's Candidate Forum.
On the menu:
30+ Gallons of Buffalo Chili, Chicken Green Chili and vegetarian chili.
20lbs of Hebrew National All Beef Hotdogs
50 gallons of homemade potato salad.
And more.
Sitting next to the former county chairman of the GOP wearing a #MAGA hat. Was just asked if I would have supported Tom Tancredo for governor.
I said, he was batshit crazy.
Now RRW intros.
But hey, the food is free.

It's okay, he's an "outsider".
About marijuana: he's opposed. Says tax revenues from marijuana sales are being "stolen" and MJ is a gateway drug.
Uh, Colorado has one of the best economies in the nation right now.
Other candidate, black suit, blue shirt, no tie and casual slip ons, similar to whatever I'm wearing. Much more personable. Has lived in and held various offices in the county. Must diversify county income because property taxes are going doing. County historically refuses to raise taxes or allows increase in services. Businesses should be allowed to come in and do what they want.
No and no.
Sheriff Candidate #2: wants to increase reserve Sheriff corps. Wants to update policies and procedures. Wants full-time school resource offices. Apparently he also thinks there's a marijuana problem (with illegal grow facilities). Also wants new jail, but wants to make sure it's "high tech" and can be run with minimal manpower. Wants to bring in own under-sheriff, not Shane (again). Give objective review of current deputies and staff. Straighten budget up, make it more transparent. Citizens should know where traffic money is going. Keep outreach programs which are funded by money hidden in a 501c3 program and are not considered part of budget. Wants to change that. Increase "tactical" school shooter training.
Sheriff Candidate #3: came from Phoenix, AZ. Wants more deputies. Wants to make budget more transparent and to have more of a relationship with kids. Independent audit. Build relationships with surrounding counties. Bring in free training and reserve officers from retired ranks. Wants bigger better jail. (Sheriff Arpaio anyone?) Will perform employee reviews. Also doesn't want to bring in current Sheriff (Shane). Wants traffic revenue to go back to country's general fund. Will have open door policy and will attend all the community meetings he can get into. Won't know what to change or keep until he's had a chance to evaluate the dept after being elected.
