To be honest, I didn't even know Jim Nabors was still alive. I remember watching him on The Andy Griffith show as well as Gomer Pyle, USMC. I certainly hope the Marines honor him in some way or another as he gave the nickname "Gomer" to every Marine recruit for decades.
