They should have baked the damn pie first.  I'm unimpressed. Anyone can put a fuse into any old dessert.

Bobbi Jo Woods - That's not just "any old desert."  What the video didn't describe was that the other white powder they mixed with the sugar was potassium nitrate.  This is the most basic formula for rocket candy.  The potassium nitrate is the oxidizer and the sugar is the fuel.  When caramelized the mixture is perfect for use as a rocket fuel or a smoke bomb, but you certainly wouldn't want to eat it.

And I agree with your sentiment.  Oh...Meh.
