Are strong women rare?

Are strong women rare? I've known some very strong women and I've known some very weak women. The same can be said about men, too.

I like Greg Rucka's answer slightly better.  "I write characters.  Some of them happen to be women."

This is the writer that gave us Tara Chase, Carrie Stetko, Kate Kane, and had the run on Wonder Woman which all others will be judged on.

Look for Queen and Country, Whiteout (the books not the movie), and the current Batwoman.  Warning: if you start reading Queen and Country it's very difficult to stop.
