For years I've referred to the Democrats as spineless cowards, but the modern GOP seems to bending over and grabbing their ankles more often than not these days. And in doing so they've abdicated their legislative responsibilities, thus defying the Constitution's built-in checks and balances.

both parties are being doormats. I'm assuming they're being paid to act this way.

Note I am not engaging in false equivalence. Democrats are being spineless. Republicans are actively facilitating fascism.

Like the man says, power corrupts. Republicans were so disturbed by a black man they couldn't directly attack and discredit being elected president, that they resolved to do whatever was necessary to undo everything he did and make sure they never lost power again. The present situation is the result of that vow.

It's as if they want all this to happen the way it's going down.

Sibyl L could be worse: in college we read a book called The Man (if I remember correctly) about the first "black" President. It was written in the 60s and was obviously fictional at that time. By the end of the book Congress wrote legislation prohibiting black Americans from ever being elected to the Presidency and forced him to sign it into law.

Our GOP hasn't gone that far yet.
