So, on Twiiter, I've been seeing a weird, unexplainable, trend lately. On Twitter people have been @ing themselves. For example, one such person has three tweets in a row where he @'s himself:

earthXplorer: @earthXplorer awesome pics you have tweeted:) lovely! /via @kukigrewal -- thanks!!

Why? Why are people doing this? Is it from a Twitter client, or are they really addressing a tweet to themselves? It's like sending yourself an email or regular mail.

It just doesn't make sense to me.
