These are not Luke Skywalker's final word, but his final thoughts.

These are not Luke Skywalker's final word, but his final thoughts. And while they are a fitting poetic end, I had kind of hoped he hadn't died, that we'd see the Jedi Master in full form one more time. #StarWars https://www.esquire.com/uk/latest-news/a23350422/star-wars-the-last-jedi-luke-skywalker-final-words/

There is a moment in Return of the Jedi , just after Luke Skywalker's anger-filled rampage that culminated in Darth Vader's sword hand being sliced off where Luke, heaving from the physical exertion, has an epiphany. He sees the wires poking out of Vader's wrist area and then looks down at this own cybernetic hand. He had become his father. This is a pivotal moment in Luke's journey to the dark side and back. And, make no mistake, he did go over to the dark side as he gave in to fear, and then anger, and attacked the Emperor. Seeing his father's mechanical hand forced him to realize he was on the same path that swallowed Anakin #Skywalker whole. Now read the below post. #StarWars #ROTJ #TheLastJedi https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/a22139405/luke-skywalker-star-wars-last-jedi-analysis/

I'm still not excited about this #StarWars movie.

I'm still not excited about this #StarWars movie. Han #Solo was never my favorite character in the Original Trilogy and no one asked for this film. No one but Disney who wants to capitalize on the Solo name, that is. http://www.indiewire.com/2018/05/solo-star-wars-ron-howard-reshoots-amount-1201962730/

“They [the terrorists] didn’t get that idea from my opera, don’t worry,” Atwood said.

“They [the terrorists] didn’t get that idea from my opera, don’t worry,” Atwood said. “They got the idea from ‘Star Wars.’” Margaret Atwood apparently believes the 9/11 terrorists were inspired by #StarWars #ANewHope when they flew jet liners into the World Trade Center. I don't know if she's batshit crazy or just untethered from reality. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2018/04/12/handmaids-tale-writer-margaret-atwood-star-wars-inspired-911-terrorists.html

I've seen the various #StarWars films a total of hundreds of times and I can honestly say I've never noticed the Wilhelm Scream . Maybe here or there, but not all over the franchise. https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-last-jedi-quietly-killed-another-star-wars-traditio-1823390385

This reminds me of Jodorowsky's Dune : http://m.imdb.com/title/tt1935156/ Jodorowsky was a director who was hired to create a Dune movie but he never actually read the book. Instead, he heard bits and pieces from other people and put a concept together based on what he'd heard. In the end it barely resembled the book and ended up being permanently shelved. #StarWars https://youtu.be/1GS9wLMyvn8

When LucasFilm Disney announced the stand alone Solo movie (ha ha, see what I did there?) I was skeptical.

When LucasFilm Disney announced the stand alone Solo movie (ha ha, see what I did there?) I was skeptical. Not because I kept up with the production news (I didn't) but because this was classic Disney trying to squeeze blood from a turnip. When the House of the Mouse purchased the #StarWars franchise we knew they were going to do everything in their power to recoup their billion dollar investment as quickly as possible and that meant: film, film, film. [Read that as nouns or verbs, they both work] Instead of delving deeper into the StarWars mythos the geniuses (yes, that's sarcasm) over at Disney have decided to cut their risks and go with a known winner: fan-favorite, Han Solo. But, no one asked for a Solo movie and definitely not as a prequel to the original trilogy. Besides, there was already a much better "Han Solo" short-lived television series with accompanying feature film. It was called Firefly and Serenity respectively. https://slate.com/culture/2018/02...

I was looking forward to seeing and learning more about the Knights of Ren in The Last Jedi and was severely disappointed they didn't show. I mean, there was barely even a word from Snoke or Kylo about where they would be or where they've been. A perfect place to mention something would have been when Snoke was admonishing Kylo, "Perhaps I can find another worthy of my praise from the ranks of the Knight of Ren when they return from their mission," or something along those lines. #StarWars Originally shared by Movieweb Will #JJAbrams use the #KnightsofRen...Or have they served their purpose? https://movieweb.com/last-jedi-why-no-knights-of-ren/

I didn't have a problem with the Canto Bight scene.

I didn't have a problem with the Canto Bight scene. In fact, if you're a reader like I am, it was a good scene. It seems out of place but it demonstrates when good intentions go horribly wrong. The Scene also sets up the epilogue to the movie: a young boy hearing of Luke Skywalker's solo stand against unbeatable odds and beating them. He gave an entirely new generation hope. #StarWars https://www.tor.com/2017/12/21/why-canto-bight-is-vital-to-the-last-jedi/?_utm_source=1-2-2

Just read #TheStarWars, a graphic novel set to George Lucas's original #StarWars script, wherein Luke Skywalker was an aged Jedi-Bendu hunted by the Knights of Sith; where Alderaan was the center of the galactic empire and Han Solo was a large green alien. Oh, and Artoo speaks in Basic (English). Upon reading this I could definitely see the pieces Lucas kept, the ones he didn't and the influences that gave us the prequels and the Disney films. While it seems like it would have made a fine space action movie, I think the New Hope we got was a much better story.

There has been much discussion on the new film, The Last Jedi, the most recent entry into #StarWars canon.

There has been much discussion on the new film, The Last Jedi , the most recent entry into #StarWars canon. Much of it has been debating whether the film was good or bad, whether it followed the proper "StarWars" narrative, whether it was true to the source material - and so forth. Personally, I liked it as a film, not so much as a legacy to Luke Skywalker and everything we've learned of the Jedi over the previous films. (I should note: I read most all of the books in the EU that have been relegated by Disney as "legends" and not canon, so I know a bit more about the Jedi and the Force than the average movie watching bear) It's my belief that Disney could have told their story better. They wanted to "reset" the galaxy far far away, divesting themselves of the Lucas/Skywalker storyline and the only way to do that was to kill of the original heroes. I get that. But they failed to really bring the essence of the Force and explain the philosophy of the...

#StarWars #TheLastJedi came out this weekend.

#StarWars #TheLastJedi came out this weekend. Yes, I've already seen it. Yes, it's a good movie. Of course there are a few things I'd change but the major plot points I'd keep. Regardless, right now I"m just a few minutes into The People vs George Lucas . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-8O0Y76rrI
