While driving earlier I passed a man who was in the middle Lane of traffic (of three lanes) trying to change his tire. I had to find a point to do a U-turn and pulled up behind him so he wasn't hit by a car not paying attention. Then we changed his tire. About twenty minutes after I arrived a "Community Service" officer came up and added his car and lights to the warning for other drivers. A few minutes after that, a local cop added his. We got the tired changed and Dave "Dude" thanked me for stopping. He was worried some distracted driver would ram into him while he was working on his truck. I told him that was my concern, too.

That seems about right.

Language has always been a fascination of mine.

Language has always been a fascination of mine. How they evolve, etymology, similarities and differences. Language means culture; how a language expresses itself can tell you magnitudes about the culture that speaks the language. And while the study of languages (linguistics) is not my speciality in any way, shape or form, it still draws my attention. Particularly of note here is the claim that depressed people express themselves as world-centric. In other words, they're the negative side of narcissism. "It's all about me." And depressed people tend to view the world in black and white as opposed to shades of grey. I have to wonder what that says about many Conservatives. They also tend to see the world in black and white and are generally more concerned with their own interests than the interests of society as a whole. http://theconversation.com/people-with-depression-use-language-differently-heres-how-to-spot-it-90877

Everyone should read this, especially if you're not already familiar with logical fallacies. I see these being used time and again, from people who consider themselves Left and those who are self-identified Right. Hell, I even use them from time to time. Sometimes when I'm being lazy or quick and sometimes on purpose just to see if anyone argues the fallacy. http://bigthink.com/scotty-hendricks/ten-logical-mistakes-you-make-everyday-and-what-to-instead

Perfectly said.

Perfectly said. via Terence Reale #ChristianRight #Evangelical Originally shared by B A Ash Dear White Evangelicals, I need to tell you something: People have had it with you. They’re done. They want nothing to do with you any longer, and here’s why: They see your hypocrisy, your inconsistency, your incredibly selective mercy, and your thinly veiled supremacy. For eight years they watched you relentlessly demonize a black President; a man faithfully married for 26 years; a doting father and husband without a hint of moral scandal or the slightest whiff of infidelity. They watched you deny his personal faith convictions, argue his birthplace, and assail his character—all without cause or evidence. They saw you brandish Scriptures to malign him and use the laziest of racial stereotypes in criticizing him. And through it all, White Evangelicals—you never once suggested that God placed him where he was, you never publicly offered prayers for him and his family, you never welcomed him to yo...
