Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Image
Grabbed the photo below with my Android and edited it quickly with Snapseed. I liked the black and white treatment of this image the best. Below is the original image:

Went for a walk for the first time in a long time and didn't think I'd catch any good pictures due to the time of day and crystal clear blue skies. But, as happens, I got lucky. The one in color is the original and the different #monochrome ones are the various #blackandwhite treatments I decided to test hoping one would stick out and wow me. Turns out, they all wowed me. Taken with OnePlus and edited with Snapseed .

Breathe. There's a storm in #BlackandWhite coming.

Waterfall - in Black and White

Image
I woke up this morning to the internet not working. Not just the wifi, but a CAT5 connection wasn't working, either. Just another reason why I disagree with this whole "move to the cloud" movement we've been in for a couple of years now. So, I tried writing in Libre Office, I had problems sitting still long enough to complete a thought. Having only a handful of hours sleep will do that to you. So, I decided to open up some old unprocessed RAW images and convert them to JPGs since I still have actual software natively installed on my computer. Then I chose an image and ran it through NIK Software Silver Efex Pro. While the image turned out fantastic, when I went to save it, Nik overwrote the original JPG. That sucked. Anywho, here's a waterfall from a few months ago. Waterfall in Black and White

Orange Kitty in #BlackandWhite

Image
Orange Kitty in #BlackandWhite Taken just a few minutes ago in #BW mode on my #Pentax. Kitty was not happy being my model, less so than the dogs quite possibly. I keep trying to get photos of his teeth because he has two sets of upper fangs (canines. Seriously, are they canine teeth on a cat?), but he almost never smiles. He's ten years old and this is his third home. From what I understand, he belonged to a family and when the parents broke up he went with the father to live with his brother. The cat's owner either (1) moved back in with his ex-wife or (2) found a new girlfriend to move in with. Regardless, the cat was left with his brother. My roommate met the brother a bar who told her he was trying to find the cat a home since he didn't really want it around. So, she took it. She calls it "Butters," short for "Butterscotch." I call it "Orange Cat" because it's orange. It had a completely different name before.

So weird.

So weird. #GooglePhotos made this #autoawesome for me from a photo I took about an hour ago. When I "Saved" it to my photos and then tried to share it, Google Photos couldn't download the image for sharing. I tried four or five times, each one resulting in a failure to download image message. So, I used the three dot menu in the upper right hand corner of the Photos app and selected "Save to Device." Well, that worked perfectly fine. It downloaded and here we are. #blackandwhite #bw #monochrome

Rufus got a (much needed, if you ask my roommate) bath yesterday.

Rufus got a (much needed, if you ask my roommate) bath yesterday. He's all shiny and soft now. And fluffy. So very very fluffy. So, naturally, I took pictures. This is one. #dog #photography #blackandwhite #bw
