A Creek Runs Through It

Image
Grabbed this shot while out walking the dogs earlier today. Couldn't figure out how I liked the edit best: color, black and white or with the green tint. What do you think? This is a mobile shot edited with Snapseed.

Not a Fire

Image
Grabbed this little gem while out walking my dog. Once again I didn't have my dSLR on me and had to grab this with my Android. The image is of a dead tree's branches reaching for the sky. This was treated with Snapseed, as usual for photography on the go.

Google+'s New Photo Editing Features

Image
Google decided to roll out new old features to their cloud photo editing options. To be honest, I'm not sure if they retired PicNik or just buried it somewhere else, but the new features are desktop (well, Chrome-top) versions of their popular on-the-go Android app, Snapseed. Why Chrome-top? Apparently the feature is not available unless you're using the Chrome web browser, or presumably the ChromeOS.  Maybe the Picnik features are still available to other browser users? I'll have to check and update this post. To find this feature, using Chrome, log into your Google+ account. On the left hand side, choose Photos  and then a photo. Once the individual image is open in the lightbox, there should be an Edit  option on the top row above the picture. Then edit away... just like Snapseed. Here's the first image I decided to test this feature on and below I'll post the image from when I edited this with Snapseed on the go many, many, many moons ago: Originally, I edite...

A Walk With the Dogs

Image
Here are a couple of shots from this morning's walk with the dogs over at Cherry Creek State Park. The day is overcast but not the greatest light especially considering I was shooting with my Note II (also the device I'm posting from). I wanted to bring my dSLR and tripod but trying to hold on to two leashes while setting up equipment didn't sound like fun to me. As always, these mobile shots were edited with Snapseed for Android.

Old Chevy

Image
While out walking the dogs this morning I ran across this old Chevy truck. Well, not really a  truck so much as station wagon.  Since I've never seen it before I decided to go ahead and grab a couple Android shots while it was there. I treated the picture and two separate ways both using Snapseed. One is basic black and white and the other I added a sepia style tint to give it an older feel.

More Androidography

Image
Yes, I know, more pictures from on the go, but hey, what are you going to do? Cameras are fairly prevalent now. These are just a couple of shots from walking my dog yesterday afternoon. We hit the Sun's light and clouds just right and to be honest, I wish it had been one of those walks where I brought my dSLR. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't bring it and usually when I don't I wished I had. Thank the gods for cell phone cameras! Such is life. The first shot (if they show in order) is of the clouds rolling in from the south  the second is of a tree highlighted by the afternoon light with the clouds adding texture to the sky and the third is my roommate's dog resting his head on my lap.
