Showing posts with the label app

Testing the Image Uploader ... Again

Just changed the image upload setting to "smaller" than originally set in the hopes that blogger will actually upload images for me. ... it's not. In fact, one of the images not showing is one shared to Blogger and the other is one brought in from within this post. Neither are showing as posting. At least not on drafts. I wonder what happens if you try to take a photo from within the Blogger app. I don't think I've tried that in a while, but then again, I don't think Blogger has updated the app in a while either. Update: So, image sharing on the go is not happening in Blogger, but if I use the camera app from within the Blogger app and take a photo it appears to work. So, no edited images or sharing images from the device or the gallery on the go it seems.

Rando -- Random Images from the World

Image
It's been a month or so since I downloaded the Rando app from the Google Play Store . I read about it in a post on Google+ and decided to give it a try. It's a fun little app reminiscent of chatroulette, but so far, without all the penises. The premise is simple: take a picture, upload it up to the internet aethyr and receive one in return. The names, no connections, no nothing. You take pictures. You send pictures. You receive pictures. That's all there is to Rando. As they state on their Play page: Description Rando is an experimental photo exchange platform. Give, receive and collect unique photos from random people from all over the world. A rando must be sent for one to be received. It's about gifting rather than sharing. You will never know who received the rando, they will never know who sent it. You will know the location of where it landed, the receiver will know where in the world it was taken. Build your rando collection with unique cultural sights from aro...

Rant: the G+ Android App

What annoys me  was already posted on Google+ but I wanted to park it here, too. A lot of times I use the App when powering up, or being on, the computer just isn't feasible and while there are some good things about the app, like being able to + a name and Instant Upload (which never seems to work _instantly_ for me), the annoying things are just too annoying to ignore. My biggest complaint -- a complaint I've sent feedback on about 25 times and that I've told to  + Punit Soni  in one of his own threads (where he did ask) -- is the app is always resetting the Stream back to the beginning or newest post. So, for example, if I'm reading along and finally find a post I need to spend some more time on, tap it and open the post up, read/comment and then use the [back] button to return to the stream I'm automatically shot back to the newest post, thus losing my place where I was reading it. This also happens when:   1- launching the app. That is when initially launch ...
