Five Star Wars Plot Holes Explained, Explained.

Re:  This Article on the Huffington Post Yeah, these aren't really surprises. Let's assume these aren't "holes" and that we have to take a _certain point of view_ with the scenes: 1- Leia is adopted by the Organa's. Since this is Alderaan and they're a peaceful people with no weapons, one could reasonably assume that adoption is fairly common, even amongst royalty. Since the Empire didn't know Padme had children there is no reason to look for them, especially as one adoptee on one of a thousand planets.  Luke on the other hand _does_ still use the Skywalker name. However, Tattooine is a backwater planet on the outer rim. As long as Owen and Beru didn't register Luke with the government (which might be why they didn't want him going off to join the Academy) he should have been fairly well hidden. Again, it's not like Vader and Sidious were looking for Skywalker's dead children. And again, one backwater planet amongst thousands of inhab...

When I say I'm a *Star Wars* fan I mean I'm a *Star Wars* fan -- not a CosPlayer or convention devotee, but a fan of the Universe George Lucas created and the cultures that dwell within that Universe. I remember being a kid and eagerly awaiting the answer to the greatest question of the time: was Darth Vader really Luke Skywalker's father?  I remember going to a theater in Satellite Beach, FL that was having a *Star Wars* marathon of the first two movies in preparation of the release of Return of the Jedi . It might have been the first or second time in my life I saw a movie by myself since my mother was less than interested in seeing these films. I remember watching Jedi in disbelief as Obi-wan Kenobi explained to Luke how Vader was his father, turning the Universe upside down for an 8 (or 9) year old boy. There came many a weekend afternoon watching the movies in syndication and many hundreds of hours watching them on VHS before George Lucas changed the film...

Surviving on Hoth

re:  How Luke Skywalker Should Have Died on Hoth Okay, so there's a flaw in his reasoning. The author of the piece states that he doesn't believe that Han would have a temporary shelter with him as he keeps it on the _Falcon_. However, one must assume that since the Rebel Alliance is a military organization and they're very aware they are stationed on Hoth, an ice planet, that their tauntaun's patrol packs, and or, standard mission equipment would be to have emergency shelter kits with them while out on patrol. Since the tauntaun was already packed when Han drafted it, assumably from the stables, then we can also assume the emergency kit was either with Han already or with the tauntaun and he already knew this was standard operating procedure. Especially since Han clearly says, "This will keep you warm until I get the shelter up." But, let's go ahead and assume Han nor the tauntaun had one with them as the article suggests. We have to also remember...

May the 4th Be With You

Star Wars Day This day is considered an unofficial holiday by  Star Wars  fans to celebrate Star Wars culture and remember the films. May 4 is called  Star Wars  Day (also sometimes known as  Luke Skywalker Day ) because of the popularity of a common  pun  spoken on this day. Since the phrase " May the Force be with you " is a famous quote often spoken in the  Star Wars  films, fans commonly say "May the fourth be with you" on this day.

Aw, come on, give the guy a break. He just lost his home.
